A registered charity (no. 258271) founded January 5, 1924 with the aims of service to the Church in the Diocese of Peterborough by:

  • ringing for divine service

  • recruiting and training ringers

  • encouraging the art of change ringing

  • helping ringers to improve their standard of ringing

  • care and restoration of bells and their fittings.

There are five whole Guild events each year:

  • Sponsored bike ride and walk around Rutland Water - Saturday before Easter Sunday
  • Spring Festival and six-bell striking competition - last Saturday of April
  • Annual General Meeting - second Saturday in June
  • Summer festival and inter-branch eight-bell striking competition - third Saturday in September
  • Guild Quiz night - last Saturday in October.

The work of the Guild is carried out through ten branches with a combined membership of around 1,000.

Over the last ten years a total of £110,440 has been paid out to a number of major and minor schemes, comprising about ten per cent of their total costs.

Anyone wanting to learn to ring or make contact again with ringers should contact the Guild Public Relations Officer.
