The Equalities Group is responsible for ensuring that best equalities (race, religion, age, sexuality) practice is achieved in all parts of the Partnership and encouraging Partnership members to do the same. In this respect it scrutinises the work of the Partnership. The group can also look at targets from an equalities aspect. The present focus is on smoking, harassment and Community Cohesion.
There are 4 Theme Groups within the partnership. Their role is to ensure co-ordination and good communication on these themes and that there are no gaps in what is provided. The Theme Groups are:
- Children & Young People
- Equalities and Community Cohesion
- Neighbourhood Renewal
- Older People
The Theme Groups usually meet quarterly.
- Anjona Roy is the chair of the Equalities & Community Cohesion Group.
- Peter Hook is the chair of the Childrens & Young People Group.
- Dipana Patel is chair of the Neighbourhood Renewal Group.
